Darien’s Double Exposure Boutique Now Has an E-Commerce Website

Double Exposure Boutique, a 45-year-old high-end consignment shop in Darien, announced Monday that it’s now selling its items online at e-commerce website. “A new chapter has begun,” the store’s owner, Mern Palmer-Smith, said in the announcement Monday afternoon. The announcement also said:

“The Double Exposure Boutique Online Shop will offer the same collections as in-store, giving customers access to ‘best Picks’ of women’s clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories. “There will be new items added to the e-commerce site weekly even though Double Exposure’s physical store remains closed temporarily until further notice.” Customers will have free shipping on orders over $150 and $5 flat rate shipping on orders over $75.

Double Exposure Consignment Boutique is excited to announce its 20th-anniversary celebration in the year 2020. A Best of the Gold Coast winner, woman-owned Double Exposure caters to the Fairfield County community and its growing high-end resale market. On Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 4-6 pm Double Exposure Boutique, located at 1958 Post Road, Darien, CT, will host an event to celebrate 20 years in the consignment business under the ownership of Mern Palmer-Smith. “Over these last 20 years we have formed a strong bond with our consignors and long-time customers and we look forward to maintaining and strengthening those relationships both with our valued customers and the community at large ” says Palmer-Smith. At the 20th-anniversary event, Double Exposure’s in-house stylist, Tiffany Martinez will showcase new arrivals for the Spring/Summer season.

Due to the pending demolition of two prime retail blocks in downtown Darien, Double Exposure Consignment Boutique has found a new home. To insure a bright future for her popular 20-year-old shop, owner Mern Palmer-Smith searched for four years until she found its new location at 1958 Post Road, a light-filled space she was able to design to her own specifications. — an announcement from Double Exposure Consignment Boutique

Although the timing was not ideal, she chose to make the critical decision to rent the space even though there would be a significant overlap in the two leases. Ever practical and creative, Ms. Palmer-Smith is reimagining the shop’s former space at 1090 Boston Post Road. With three months left on its lease, the store is undergoing a transformation.
