Lottery Registration Now Open for Darien Library ‘Fall II Storytimes’ for Kids 5 and Under

Do you have a child age 5 or younger? If you’re a Darien resident, work in Darien full-time, or are a Friend of the Darien Library at the $300 annual level or above, we welcome you to register for our Storytime Lottery. 

The Fall II 2018 Storytime Session runs for six weeks starting Monday, Oct. 29 through Friday, Dec. 7. Registration opens Monday, October 8th and closes Monday, October 22.

Sign up today for registered August classes at Darien Library by clicking on the name of each program below, and check out the library’s Aug. 4 trip to the Railroad Museum of New England, where you can take a scenic ride an old train with your kids.

If you haven’t signed your child up for our Summer Reading program, sign up online or in the Children’s Library. Every child who registers will receive a FREE book! Registration is on a first come, first-served basis. Programs are open to Darien residents, those employed full time in Darien, or non-residents who are contributors to the Darien Library Annual Campaign at the $300 level.

Here’s what’s coming for kids this July at Darien Library: a singer from The Lion King, a band from Brooklyn, a comic mime who tells stories (we suspect he talks); a chance to read a book, see the movie made from it and discuss, storytime at the library and at the beach. Tsidii Le Loka Concert
Monday, July 9 at 4 p.m.
Tsidii Le Loka is best known for orginating the role of Rafiki in the original Broadway production of Disney’s stage musical, The Lion King. This musical performance will engage the audience in contemporary culture and music influenced by South African traditions. *Tickets will be distributed 15 minutes prior to the program. Space is limited.
