Talk With Master Gardeners at Bartlett Arboretum

On the first Thursday of each month, through October 2018, a team of certified UConn Extension master gardeners, who tend the three perennial gardens, will be present at Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford to share their extensive knowledge related to successfully growing the flowers in these gardens. The master gardeners will be available from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. each first Thursday of the month, through October. The public is invited to stop by, view the gardens, and ask questions. Sister Sun Family Folk Band with Original Music in Concert at Bartlett Arboretum

Sister Sun is an original music family folk band. The family will play outdoors at Bartlett Arboretum in North Stamford from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday. Consisting of Dave, Dianne, Jenna Colavito, Kate Gunn, and Joe Colavito, they play shows on a monthly basis and are sometimes seen in the Caribbean. Bartlett Arboretum Summer Concert Series performances on the Great Lawn or in the Silver Educational Center if there’s rain. Bring chairs or a blanket, and a picnic dinner.

Free ‘Champion Trees’ Tour at Bartlett Arboretum

Advanced Master Gardener Greg Moonie will give a tour of the Bartlett’s Connecticut and New England Champion trees and other notable and interesting trees around the great lawn at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford. The tour takes place on Sunday, July 22 at the Bartlett Arboretum in North Stamford. It should last approximately 60 minutes. Flat shoes are recommended. Meet in front of the Silver Education Center at 3:30 p.m.  The event will be cancelled if it rains.

The Barons, a TriState Oldies Group, Plays at Bartlett Arboretum

Our Summer Sunday Concert Series continues with The Barons. The concert will take place on the Great Lawn or in the Silver Educational Center if there’s rain. Bring chairs or a blanket, and a picnic dinner. 

$5 for members, $10 for non-members, free for children 12 & under. The Barons are one of the tri-state’s hottest “oldies” groups with over 30 years of performing experience, combined with the areas top musicians. The Barons are known for their 1963 hits, “Pledge of A Fool”, “Remember Rita” on Epic Records, and “Possibility,” on Old Town Records under the name of The Crowns.

Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens in North Stamford invites those who are owned by dogs  (and guests of those who are owned by dogs) to enjoy a social affair at the second annual “Yappy Hour” at the “Bark”lett on Thursday, July 19 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. 

Guests and their furry four legged friends can mix and mingle while enjoying complimentary beer and bites. After a very successful launch this past June 21, Yappy Hour will continue at the Bartlett this summer.  

Beer and bites were enjoyed by locals and their dogs and people expressed an interest in making this a regular feature event at the Bartlett. Based on popular demand, a new Yappy Hour date of Thursday, July 19 was added. Aug.

Abbie Gardner Performs at Bartlett Arboretum

Bartlett Arboretum’s Summer Sunday Concert Series continues with Abbie Gardner. The concert will take place on the Great Lawn or in the Silver Educational Center if there’s rain. Bring chairs or a blanket, and a picnic dinner. 

$5 for members, $10 for non-members, free for children 12 & under. Abbie Gardner shows her prodigious writing chops in her album, Hope. She channels Lucinda and Bonnie, but remains pure Abbie.
