When two women visited Chocolate Works at Goodwives Shopping Center late Friday afternoon, Sept. 9, one of them handed a store clerk a $100 bill to pay for something.

The clerk became suspicious because of the way the bill felt, and she thought it might be counterfeit. She handed it back to the potential customer.

The two women then left the store, and the clerk reported the incident to police at 6:10 p.m. Police are looking into the matter, including a review of the store’s video surveillance recordings.
