A 49-year-old Darien man waiting to get coffee at a fast-food restaurant was so upset with the customer in front of him that when her food arrived, he grabbed it and threw it at her, according to a report in the Connecticut Post.

The Post published this account from Bridgeport police (with accusations not proven in court):

William King of Walmsley Road was in a pickup truck waiting Wednesday morning in the drive-thru lane at the McDonald’s restaurant on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. The customer in front of him was waiting for her own order.

King began yelling and cursing, telling the woman to hurry up. Then he got out of his truck, walked up to the woman, grabbed her food and threw it at her. He yelled a racial slur at her, said he was a police officer and no longer wanted to wait for his coffee. Then he left.

Police soon found King’s truck, stopped it and charged him with breach of peace. He was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
