Ralph John Benzenberg passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27 in Connecticut. He was 80.

John Benzenberg, 80, passed away March 27. His funeral will take place on Monday, April 3.

He and his wife Patricia were living in Milford for the past five years. Before moving to Milford, he and Patricia were Darien residents for over 40 years.

Ralph was born in Brooklyn, New York on Oct. 25, 1942 to the late Ralph John Benzenberg and Helen Dorothy Crowell Benzenberg.

Ralph graduated from ArchBishop Molloy High School in New York in 1960, attended Queens College and served in the Marines from 1964-1970. He reached the rank of sergeant and received a Rifle Marksman Badge during his service.

He married Patricia Benzenberg in April 1968 in East Glendale New York. During Ralph’s career, he was in computer sales starting out at Sperry, where his father, Ralph John Benzenberg, also worked and continued on to CMC, Computer Management Company.

For the last 10 years of his career before retiring, he worked for the United Postal Service as an international sales specialist in Flushing, New York; Jersey City, New Jersey; and White Plains, New York.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Patricia Benzenberg; his daughters: Margaret Stroffolino, her husband, Richard Stroffolino, and their children, Lauren, Haley and Hannah; and  Jeanie Edwards, her husband, Jerome Edwards, and their daughter, Emerson. He is also survived by  his brother, John Benzenberg,  John’s wife, Carmen Benzenberg and their sons, Eric and Andrew.

A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2023, at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
