Arrest photo of Marleny Nunez, 26, of Perry Street in Stamford, charged with larceny and identity theft after paychecks were stolen in December 2020.

Darien police gave this account of the incident and investigation, including accusations not proven in court:

Several paychecks and some Amazon gift cards were missing in the theft at the country club on Hoyt Street, reported to police on Dec. 16, 2020.

Darien police detectives watched video surveillance records showing “the suspect and vehicle used in the incident,” the police news release said. The news release didn’t directly say the suspect was Marleny Nunez of Perry Street in Stamford, the woman they arrested on Sunday.

Nunez turned herself in at Darien Police Headquarters at 10:21 that night in response to the arrest warrant. She was released on $20,000 bond and told to appear Jan. 12 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
