A 19-year-old Greenwood Avenue teenager last week hosted an outdoor party where alcohol was available, resulting in his arrest, Darien police said.

Police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Police went to Greenwood Avenue at 11:47 p.m. after getting a report of a loud party. When they arrived, they saw several people running from the property. Red cups and beer cans were scattered around the area.

The 19-year-old man who identified himself as the host said he had invited friends over for a bonfire. At first the man said he was 21 years old, but it was later found that he was only 19.

Two guests, both 19, who seemed intoxicated were turned over to their parents as a safety precaution.

The host denied providing the alcohol but wouldn’t say who did, so he was arrested on a charge of providing alcohol to minors and later released on a $500 bond. He’s scheduled to appear June 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Having extinguished the party, police extinguished the bonfire before leaving.
