A Darien man told police he saw a man in an orange construction vest masturbating not far from the West Avenue entrance to Woodland Park at about noon on Monday, Oct. 3.
The man notified police at about 7 p.m. about the incident. (The police report did not say why the complainant waited so long.)
The man told police he was walking his dog when he saw the man in the vest masturbating while holding a cell phone. The dog walker said he called out to the man, who appeared startled, apologized and walked away in the opposite direction.
The complainant had no more detailed description of the man, and knew of no other witnesses.
(Construction crews have been working on a sewer project and other projects in the area. Work crews sometimes don’t have convenient portable toilets near work sites, although the police report gave no indication whether or not that situation may have explained the incident.)
