Michael Alcorn died peacefully on April 18, 2023 at the Sentara Williamsburg Regional Hospital, after succumbing to a long illness with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

Michael Alcorn died on April 18.

Born in Streator, Illinois in 1944, Mike immigrated with his family to Calgary, Alberta in 1957. There he attended the University of Calgary and served as president of the student body.

Following graduation, Mike moved to Toronto and worked for various package goods corporations as a marketing executive. There he met Jane, his beloved wife and stalwart partner for 51 years.

In 1974, the couple moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Mike worked for Libby, McNeil and Libby, later taken over by Nestlé, leading to a transfer back to White Plains, New York. The Alcorns resided in Darien for 23 years, retiring to Williamsburg in 2002.

Mike served on the board of the Brandywyne Homeowners’ Association for many years and enjoyed volunteering with Williamsburg Tax-Aide as technical coordinator.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (née McNeil) of Williamsburg; his sisters, Kathleen Eberle of Calgary, Alberta and Marjorie Guèrin of Sanary-sur-Mer, France; and a cousin, Melissa Hamid of Franklin, Texas.
