Judith (Judy) Schrober Pataky, 82, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away on Monday, Oct. 15 in Branford after a brief illness.

ObitBorn on Nov. 27, 1935 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Schrober.

Judy attended Stamford schools and Sacred Heart Academy. She was employed by the Stamford Public Schools for over 30 years and worked at KT Murphy School, Davenport Ridge and Westhill High School in the Special Education Department.

She was a strong supporter of Operation Hope, supplying meals weekly for 15 years to the Fairfield Shelter. Judy was a talented artist and had a love of art, books and history. She has a lifelong love of animals.

She was a woman of faith and was a parishioner of St. John Church in Darien. She has a wonderful sense of humor and many friends.

Judy is survived by her daughter Suzanne Schlegel and her husband Frank of Fairfield, and their three sons: Adam Schlegel of Boston, Dane Schlegel of Fairfield and Jared Schlegel of Norwalk; her son, Gregory Pataky, and his wife, Gina, of Stratford; her son, Jeffrey, and his wife, Chrissie, and his children: Brendan Pataky and Lucas Pataky of Phoenix. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Meghan Corder and her husband, Preston, and their two children, Lindsey and Annie of Cary, North Carolina; and her grandson, Christopher Pataky, and his wife, Kelley, and their two children, Abigail and Max, also of Cary.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Raymond (Woo) Pataky; her eldest son, Mark; and her brother, John.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien. Interment will be private.
