Dear Gina:
On behalf of the Darien Department of Human Services, I would like to thank you for your donation of new clothing, shoes, and accessories for our annual Back-to-School Program. We were overwhelmed with your generosity!
Back-to-School shopping can be a financial burden for many Darien families particularly those with multiple school-aged children.
With the school supplies they receive from our Back-to-School program and your generous donation of clothing, these children will be able to start off the school year in a positive manner.
We can only do what we do with the support and generosity of individuals and organizations like yours. Your help make our programs possible!
Thanks, again, for supporting our programs and, more importantly, touching the lives of our neighbors. Your outreach means so much to us and more, importantly, to the clients we serve. I look forward to continuing this meaningful relationship.

The Back-to-School Program helps eligible Darien school children get off to a good start with backpacks, school supplies and gift certificates for shoes or sneakers.
The Department of Human Services is in particular need of new, large backpacks in blue or black which can be purchased at Costco or any major retailer. (Large backpacks are currently on sale at Costco for $15.99).
The Back-to-School Program is one of the many services that the Department of Human Services provides to the residents of Darien. If you’re interested in donating, please contact the Human Services Department in Town Hall.
