Frank Grunert, 79, passed away on July 5, 2018 at Mountain Valley Hospice Facility in Gloversville, NY from complications following a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident.

Francis Grunert, 79, passed away July 5. His wake is Monday evening, and his funeral is on Tuesday.

Frank was born on June 20, 1939 in Greenwich, the son of the late Robert and Constance (Wilkins) Grunert.

He was a skilled auto mechanic and was previously employed at Allen Bros in Greenwich and H&L Chevrolet in Darien.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Granville and a proud member of AA. He celebrated over 30 years of sobriety and greatly valued the friendships he made there.

Frank’s family will cherish the memories of his marvelous sense of humor and great laugh.

He moved to Granville approximately 20 years ago and loved every moment of sitting on his deck enjoying the feelings of peace and serenity brought to him by the fabulous view.

He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth “Lisa”(Leutz) Grunert and two brothers Robert Grunert and Ralph Wilkins. Survivors are a brother, Peter Grunert (Phyllis) of South Carolina; and a sister, Mary Richardson, of New Hampshire. He is also survived by nieces and nephews who all loved “Uncle Frank.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 10 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 23 Bulkley Ave., Granville, NY, with the Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy presiding.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 9 at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville.
