Checking a car battery

In just a few months, summer will be upon us. So, if your car engine cranks slowly, your headlights are dim, or your dashboard’s charging warning lamp is illuminated, your battery may fail. It’s time to have it checked or replaced, says AAA Northeast.

— an announcement from AAA Northeast

AAA is offering free battery check clinics for members at the AAA Fairfield Branch, 1201 Kings Hwy, Fairfield, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No appointments necessary.

As part of the inspection, AAA technicians will test the battery and charging system, examine connections, and share test results on the battery’s health.

If the battery needs to be replaced, attendees may purchase a new one, which the technician will install on the spot.
