This event will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 27 at the Country Club of Darien, 300 Mansfield Ave.

DAR Chapters from Stamford, Wilton, and New Canaan have been invited to attend. The CTDAR recently celebrated its 125th anniversary.

Mrs. Hendrie will seek to inspire members to become involved and engaged in local, state and national DAR projects through an understanding of the DAR and its objectives.

She will explain the New Horizons Leadership Course which offers an in-depth opportunity for DAR members to learn, apply and accomplish goals culminating in the Capstone Leadership Project.

This project could be a cemetery clean-up, wreath laying, Revolutionary War soldier’s grave marking, or a clothing/food drive for a local shelter.

The National Society DAR was founded in 1890 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. A nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s organization, the NSDAR is dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through a better education for children.

In addition to serving as CTDAR vice regent, Christy is national vice chairman of the DAR DNA Database Updates, New Horizons state coordinator, state meetings and conference chair, and the executive liaison to district directors and co-chairman of the Chapter Development and Revitalization Committee.

She is the vice president and chaplain of the NSDAR State Vice Regent’s Club based in Washington, D.C. and serves as flag chairman of the CTDAR Officers and Regents Club.

She is an honorary chapter regent of the Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter DAR. Hendrie is vice president of the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead in Windsor and the Governor Jonathan Trumbull House/Wadsworth Stable in Lebanon.

A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and Sacred Heart University, Christy holds a MSN in Nursing and is board certified as a family nurse practitioner working at the Parent-Child Resource Center (PCRC) a subsidiary of BHcare in Derby. She and her husband, Tim, are the proud parents of four daughters (all DAR members) and 11 grandchildren.

Darien Regent Katherine Love will conduct a brief business meeting prior to the tea.

Membership in the DAR is open to any woman over the age of 18 who can trace her direct lineage to a patriot whose last act was to serve the cause of American independence during the Revolutionary War. For more information or applications, contact the regent.
