The elderly man found late Monday afternoon at the bottom of a swimming pool at a Meadowbrook Road residence has now succumbed to his injuries at Norwalk Hospital, Darien police announced.
Police pulled the man from the pool after they were called at about 4:30 p.m. Monday. The man wasn’t breathing and didn’t have a heartbeat, but he was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation, regained a pulse and was taken by a Darien EMS-Post 53 ambulance to Norwalk Hospital, where he remained in critical condition until noon Wednesday, when he passed away.
Police said they would have no further information to release about the incident.
