Crowds flocked along sidewalks downtown and elsewhere in Darien to pick up sale items from local businesses, join contests and learn about local organizations on Thursday, part of the three-day Darien Sidewalk Sale and Family Fun Days.
There was also fun for kids, with a bouncy house and an ongoing Where’s Waldo contest (many more events and activities for kids are scheduled for Friday and Saturday).

Kimberly Lyons of Darien started her jewelry business in May, selling Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski. She has a tent set up at the Noroton Heights Shopping Center. "It's almost like spreading a bit of joy for people who love jewelry," she said. You can find her business on the Web at touchstonecrystal.com/bluewave and, yes, that is a lot of blue on display — it's Blue Wave Country, after all.
