This is the 83rd year that the DCA has granted scholarships, and the organization is the largest provider of scholarships to DHS graduates — with funding for both new and returning college students.
The scholarship program is also the only one in Darien offering recipients the opportunity to reapply for all four years of college, the announcement said.
“The DCA is proud to support Darien High School graduates and is grateful to our generous donors,” the announcement said. “We wish you all the best in your future endeavors!”

More About DCA Scholarships
From the DCA website:
A longstanding component of the DCA mission is providing college scholarships to Darien High School (DHS) graduates.
The DCA awards at least $50,000 in scholarships each year. Since its inception, the DCA scholarship program has provided over $2 million in funding to more than 1,400 DHS graduates. The DCA is the largest provider of scholarships to DHS graduates — with funding for both new and returning college students — and the only DHS scholarship program offering recipients the opportunity to reapply for all four years of college.
Scholarships are based on both merit and need, and are funded by our named scholarship program, individual donations and a wide range of DCA programs. We are proud to support our students and community.
If you are a current DHS student, please visit the DHS website Scholarship page.
If you are a past recipient and current college student, please visit the web page for Continuing Student Aid.
According to that page: “Continuing Student Aid Scholarships are awarded annually to former students of Darien High School who received awards their senior year. Awards are based on financial need and given to benefit the student, not the college or university.”
A reminder for those who may apply next year: Keep in mind that this year’s deadline to apply was 12 noon on Thursday, March 28. Be prepared.
Eligibility: To be eligible for a DCA Continuing Student Aid Scholarship this year, applicants must request financial aid from the college/university they attend before meeting with the DCA Scholarship Committee members in June.
