A man with a note implying he had a gun robbed the Chase Bank branch at the corner of Noroton Avenue and Heights Road shortly before 1 p.m., Tuesday, Darien police said.
The robber didn’t show a weapon, and no one was hurt in the incident. He was given money by the teller and immediately left the building.
The tall, black man’s image was captured by a surveillance video camera, but the man himself got away in a white sedan that may have had New Jersey license plates, police said.
At 1 p.m., Darien police were called to the bank, at 165 Noroton Ave., and police detectives processed the scene for evidence. They are actively working with the FBI to try to identify the robber.
Police are asking anyone who has any information or recognizes the pictured suspect to call the Darien Police Department Detective Bureau at 203-662-5330.
The incident is the second robbery of a Darien bank in a month. On June 12, the Chase Bank on the Post Road next to Trader Joe’s was robbed by a man with a note.
“As this is an active investigation, no further information will be released at this time,” police said in a news release Wednesday morning.
