Schoenbart has been DHS assistant principal for two years, since August 2017, when his hiring was announced.

His previous experience included working an instructional technology coach since 2015 and before that taught English at the Ossining, New York high school. In 2016, the National School Board Association named him one of the “20 to Watch” education technology leaders.

An announcement at the time he was hired in Darien quoted Ossining High School Assistant Principal Fiorillo describing Schoenbart is a “highly motivated,” “ethical,” “hard working” educator whose leadership qualities enabled the school to move forward in its technology initiative.

In her announcement Wednesday, Dunn told parents: “We will immediately  initiate the search process to find a new member of our administrative team, and Dr. Schoenbart is committed to supporting a seamless transition in the best interest of our students.”

“We will keep you informed as the summer progresses,” Dunn concluded. “We wish Adam the best of luck in his new position.”
