Friday: Billy & the Showmen

Established more than 50 years ago by band leader Billy Frenz, Billy and the Showmen has earned their reputation as one of Connecticut’s most enduring Rhythm & Blues bands.

Billy & the Showmen deliver hard-driving R&B, Soul, and Funk from the 60’s and 70’s!

The band’s repertoire includes the best of James Brown, Rick James, Percy Sledge, the Ohio Players, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Marvin Gaye, Wilson Pickett, Junior Welles, King Floyd, Average White Band, Tower of Power, Buddy Miles, Kool & the Gang, and Otis Redding.

Saturday: Royal Jelly Jive

Royal Jelly Jive is bringing their unique blend of soul and rock back to the East Coast for an epic two-week run Tour highlights include playing Bottlerock, Soul’d Out Music Fest, Portland Waterfront Blues and sharing the stages with Michael Franti of Spearhead, Rebirth Brass band, and Tank and Bangas. And of course, the Levitt Pavilion’s Epstein Stage!

RJJ mixes up genres like an enticing cocktail, adding elements of rock and jazz to create an eclectic mix they coin as “San Francisco Soul.” Led by powerhouse female vocalist Lauren Bjelde, RJJ features catchy tunes and a sharp horn section that will get you to boogie down in no time.

Having just recorded their first LIVE album at the Blue Note, as well as the release of yet another NPR Tiny Desk Contest video “Tetris,” Royal Jelly Jive is on fire and ready to boogie down with you! Watch their new video “Tetris” and taste the Jelly!

Sunday: Frank Mastrone

Enjoy a performance of Frank’s favorites: From Broadway classics to contemporary pop hits, the performance is laced with humor, reflection and pathos.

This is the cabaret show Frank Mastrone has become known for.

Frank has appeared on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Cats, Big: The Musical, Jekyll and Hydeand Saturday Night Fever.

Off Broadway, National Tour and concert credits include Tapestry: The Music of Carol King (Union Square Theatre), Cats, Les Miserables, Evita, Mamma Mia, Kismet (City Center Encores) and South Pacific, Show Boat and Kristina (all at Carnegie Hall).

Monday: Hall Family

The Hall Family will play an outdoor concert from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 9 at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport.

A not to be missed summer tradition! Join Mary Ann, Bill, Emily and Daniel as the Hall Family celebrates its 27th appearance at the Levitt Pavilion with joyful songs, and special guests. Their award winning music will inspire you to sing and dance all summer long.

Included will be music from Emily’s premier album, “From the Sun in the Mornin’ ‘Till the Moon at Night!” This anniversary concert promises to be a stellar night of music for the whole family.

Tuesday: Westport Community Band

Levitt Pavilion from the air. The Levitt is located just south of Westport Library and uses the same parking lots.

The Westport Community Band, founded in 1977, plays a free, outdoor concert Tuesday night, July 10 at the Levitt Pavilion.

The band is composed of adult musicians from Fairfield and Westchester Counties, who represent a wide variety of professional backgrounds and bring diverse musical experiences to the group.

All share an interest in exploring challenging concert band literature, improving individual technique, and creating music as an ensemble, while bringing excellent entertainment to our audiences and enjoyment to ourselves.

Under the direction of Sal LaRusso, former director of bands for Weston High School, the 60-piece group performs a wide variety of music including concert band compositions, show tunes, marches, pop, and classical.

Wednesday: Hopalong Andrew

Hear the down-home sounds of Hopalong Andrew and his crackerjack band of world-class Americana musicians as they playfully adapt traditional folk songs and classic country songs to reflect city life for urban cowpokes.

Hopalong Andrew plays a children’s concert at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11  as part of the Melissa & Doug Children’s Series at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport.

Clap and stomp with the fiddle, banjo, pedal steel, harmonica, and contagious harmonies that feature songs in honor of Earth Day.

Former NYC Park Ranger Hopalong Andrew will share tunes such as “The Yodeling Ranger of Central Park,” “Outside” (to the tune of Rawhide,) and many other golden melodies that will have you swinging your partner in celebration of nature.

If you’re going …

  • The lawn and concession areas are open to the public one hour before show time. The facility is closed to public during load-in and sound-check.
  • Picnics are welcome. The Levitt Pavilion and its perimeter is a non-smoking area. Pets are not allowed.In case of inclement weather, check our calendar or call our concert hotline (203-221-2153) at or after 4:30 p.m. on the day of the show for a location status update. While we have a nearby rain location for free shows, we always do our best to stay outside shower or shine!
