Two vehicles were reported stolen last week in these separate incidents: Darien police provided these accounts:
The owner of a 2023 BMW X3 told police at 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, April 22 that he’d seen a male running in his driveway on Blueberry Lane but thought the person was a deliveryman. Then he discovered that the SUV was no longer in his garage. It had been unlocked with the keys inside.
In the other incident, the owner of a 2023 Kia had parked the vehicle on Squab Lane on Monday, April 20, but noticed it missing the evening of the next day. She told police she did not leave the keys in the vehicle.
On Wednesday, April 22, police found the vehicle — with damage to both its front and rear — on Mechanic Street, about a third of a mile from where it had been last seen. It was towed from the scene.
