Part-time work is available in the Darien Human Services and Health departments or as school crossing guards.
Also, the Police Department is looking for an intern. It’s an unpaid position, but interns might be able to get college credit.
Two Part-Time Positions in Town Hall
“The Human Services and Health Departments have part-time opportunities available, which can be viewed on the Job Opportunities page on the town website,” said an announcement in the Town of Darien Newsletter on Friday.
The newsletter itself gave no further information, but the link above directs readers (in a roundabout way) to this web page, which has a lot of details about the Human Services job, and this web page about a a public health nurse position.
School Crossing Guards Wanted
The newsletter published this image with information from the Police Department about getting a part-time job as a school crossing guard:

“Those interested in learning more about the crossing guard information should email Lieutenant Dan Skoumbros, Training Division,” the announcement said.

Here’s the text of the announcement:

The Darien Police Department will make every attempt to allow students to experience all aspects of our agency, including but not limited to patrol functions, traffic safety and enforcement, investigative functions, records and evidence management, communications functions, marine responsibilities (seasonal availability), animal control, administrative functions, and more.
The Field Services Bureau is responsible for the management of the internship program, including the application process and the coordination of the students’ schedules.
Applicant Requirements:
