For the second time in 10 days, tires and rims were stolen overnight from a car at the Mini of Fairfield County Minicooper dealership at 154 Post Road. The theft occurred Monday or Tuesday, Oct. 24 or 25.

This time, the victimized vehicle was an orange 2001 Minicooper. Two other vehicles in the lot were found to have been tampered with, with a lug nut from one vehicle on the ground near it, and a tire iron from another car on the ground near that car, but employees at the dealership found no damage to either car or any items missing from them.

Ten days before, milk crates had been left under a Minicooper and tires and rims valued at $2,500 were taken. This time, the car was just left on the ground, with a jack under one corner. The car was on the west side of the parking lot, as was the previous car. As with the previous theft, the stolen items are valued at $2,500.

Darien police detectives reviewed surveillance video records from the dealership and continue to investigate both thefts.
