Police: Video Records Show Theft of a Wallet from a Shopper at a Darien Supermarket

Darien police are using video surveillance recordings in an attempt to identify a team of thieves who stole a purse from a customer at a supermarket. By the time the victim called credit card companies to cancel the cards, two attempts to use them had already been made, police said. Darien police gave this further account:
On Thursday, July 13, the victim was shopping when a woman approached her, saying she was having problems reading a label. The thief asked the victim if she had eyeglasses she could use, and the victim unzipped her purse to get a pair, then forgot to zip the purse back up. Video surveillance recordings showed two females and a male working together.
