The DCA in its announcement called the talk and reception “a perfect pre-Valentine’s Day night out, with an illustrated collection of love and relationship advice from the New Yorker writer Patricia Marx, and with illustrations from the New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast.” Their latest book follows their popular collaboration Why Don’t You Write My Eulogy Now So I Can Correct It: A Mother’s Suggestions. Patricia Marx is a former writer for “Saturday Night Live” and was the first woman elected to the Harvard Lampoon.

New Yorker cartoonist and author Roz Chast will bring an afternoon of comic relief to the SilverSource Inspiring Lives Benefit Luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 7, as she offers profoundly funny and moving insights from her award-winning graphic memoir, Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant? — an announcement from SilverSource
With characteristic wit, Chast will discuss caring for aging parents, sharing her uniquely humorous yet poignant perspective on the sometimes absurd, sometimes exasperating journey through their final years. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Serafina at the IC (Italian Center),1620 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT 06905.  Tickets ($150), sponsorships and ads are on sale now, with proceeds supporting SilverSource’s work to improve the quality of life of older adults and provide financial support for those in need. Each attendee will receive a complimentary, signed copy of Roz Chast’s book.

Roz Chast, author and renowned cartoonist for “The New Yorker,” will bring her story to life through humor at the SilverSource Benefit Luncheon planned for Nov. 7 at Serafina at the Italian Center in Stamford.
