Area Nonprofits Announce How Much They Received from Recent Fundraisers

Some results of three recent fundraising events for two area nonprofits were recently made public. Some information was released about what was gathered or how many volunteers participated:
Person to Person: Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

“This year’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive [on Saturday, May 11], sponsored by Cuisinart and Conair, was a major success, with letter carriers collecting over 40,000 pounds of food for P2P’s food pantries. The effort was supported by more than 200 volunteers on the day, plus additional help throughout the week sorting donations. This strong volunteer effort was key to the drive’s success, reflecting the community’s dedication to combating food insecurity and aiding local families. Thanks to everyone who donated and volunteered!

Put Food Donations Next to Your Mailbox for This Year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Help get food to people in the Darien area by letting Post Office workers pick it up beside your mailbox May 11 in this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The event, organized by Person to Person (P2P) and the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), takes place on Saturday, May 11, and Darien residents will be receiving grocery bags from their letter carriers on Friday, May 3 to hold your food donations. You can also volunteer to help out. — an announcement from Person to Person

Leave your food donations by your mailbox by 9 a.m. Your letter carrier and food drive volunteers will pick up and deliver your donation to P2P; or drop off your food donation to P2P Darien, 1864 Post Road, between 12 noon to 4 p.m.
This collaborative effort between all three P2P food pantries and local post offices makes it easy for residents of lower Fairfield County to help restock the P2P pantries. Food insecurity continues to be a significant challenge in Connecticut, affecting approximately 13% of residents who struggle to access sufficient and nutritious food.

‘Rock N’ Raise’ Fundraiser on Thursday, April 4 to Benefit Person to Person’s Efforts to Aid Area Needy

Person to Person, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals and families in lower Fairfield County, has announced its upcoming fundraising event, “Rock N’ Raise,” on April 4 at The Loading Dock in Stamford. — an announcement from Person to Person (P2P)

The funds raised through the event will contribute to P2P’s mission to support families and individuals as they move toward stability with healthy food, clothing, housing assistance and a path to economic opportunity. The event will include expertly crafted cocktails, a plated dinner by Abigail Kirsch, and high-energy music from The Nerds, a premier cover band from New Jersey. Ck Swett will be there to keep the crowd entertained and lead a paddle raise. P2P aims to make Rock N’ Raise a fun and engaging evening with a purpose, bringing together entertainment and a celebration of compassion and community spirit.

State Rep Corey Paris Named Person to Person’s ‘Chief Impact Officer’

Person to Person, a nonprofit organization providing resources and support to individuals and families in lower Fairfield County, on Monday announced it has appointed state Rep. Corey Paris its “chief impact officer.” — an announcement from Person to Person (P2P)
In this newly created role, Paris, who represents the 145th legislative district on the West Side section of Stamford, will bring his experience in fundraising, advocacy and government relations to drive forward P2P’s philanthropic initiatives. Through its programs and services, P2P addresses food insecurity, financial assistance, and educational opportunities. Paris will support P2P’s strategic plan to expand services and meet an increased demand for assistance, ensuring the organization’s growth aligns with its vision of thriving, hunger-free homes. “I look forward to leveraging my experience and passion for social impact to advance P2P’s commitment to providing essential resources, empowering individuals and families to achieve economic stability,” Paris said.
