Area Nonprofits Announce How Much They Received from Recent Fundraisers

Some results of three recent fundraising events for two area nonprofits were recently made public. Some information was released about what was gathered or how many volunteers participated:

Person to Person: Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Most Needed Pantry Items Person to Person list

Person to Person’s list of most needed pantry items in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 11.

“This year’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive [on Saturday, May 11], sponsored by Cuisinart and Conair, was a major success, with letter carriers collecting over 40,000 pounds of food for P2P’s food pantries.

The effort was supported by more than 200 volunteers on the day, plus additional help throughout the week sorting donations. This strong volunteer effort was key to the drive’s success, reflecting the community’s dedication to combating food insecurity and aiding local families. Thanks to everyone who donated and volunteered!

2021 P2P Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship recipient Imani Morgan spoke at the event. She and other speakers shared their heartfelt stories about the impact of P2P on their lives. Their testimonies culminated in a well-deserved standing ovation for Imani and her mother, who was present to support her.

We are thrilled to announce that Rock N’ Raise, presented by Person to Person (P2P) on Thursday, April 4 at The Loading Dock in Stamford, was a resounding success. Our event saw an impressive turnout of nearly 300 guests, and we are proud to have surpassed our fundraising target, securing over $365,000!

During the event, P2P clients Ramon and Gabriela Macassi, along with the 2021 P2P Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship recipient Imani Morgan, shared their heartfelt stories about the impact of P2P on their lives. The funds raised will significantly bolster P2P’s mission to supports families and individuals as they move toward stability with healthy food, clothing, housing assistance, and a path to economic opportunity.

Minks to Sinks: ‘Significant’ Funds Raised, Almost 200 Volunteers

Its a big sale. These are just the bicycles.

The giant Minks to Sinks twice a year flea sale in Wilton, held Saturday to Monday, May 4 to 6, got support from a lot of volunteers, organizers said.

From a Minks to Sinks news release emailed on Monday, May 13:

The sale, organized each year by a dedicated group of nearly 200 volunteers, featured a diverse array of high-quality furniture, unique household items, and much more, helping to raise significant funds.

“We are thrilled with the turnout and the level of community engagement at this year’s sale,” said Linda Koch, co-chair of Minks to Sinks.

The money raised goes to the Family and Children’s Agency.
