Jewelry Reported Stolen from Home on Allen O’Neill Drive

Jewelry valued at $550 and last seen on Dec. 19 was reported missing from a home on Allen O’Neill Drive. Police said the apparent theft was reported on Jan. 4, when a resident said a pair of “dangle” earrings valued at $50 and a gold braided ring valued at $500 were missing from a drawer in her bathroom. Police are investigating the matter.

Jewelry Valued at $5K Reported Stolen from Blueberry Lane Home After a Party

On Friday, March 24, about 60 people attended a party given at a Blueberry Lane home by a resident there. Just before midnight on Monday, March 27, another resident told police that jewelry had been stolen from the home. Police reported that the victim, 53, said a “cross style” necklace valued at $5,000 was missing, along with a second necklace, valued at $150. Both had been in a bedroom. “There are no suspects at this time, but the incident remains under active investigation,” a police news release said.

UPDATE: Atria Darien Resident’s Wedding & Engagement Rings Found

Update 3:39 p.m., Monday:

A wedding ring and engagement ring that a 97-year-old Atria Darien resident reported missing have both been found among the woman’s belongings, according to managers of the retirement home. The rings were found on Thursday morning, according to Atria Darien. “We are very happy that the missing jewelry belonging to one of our residents was found, as we expected, said Executive Director Janis Knorr. “Any time such an incident occurs, it is important to us to explore every possible avenue, including conducting our own internal investigation and contacting local law enforcement. I’m grateful to our staff for their quick action and efforts to locate the missing items, and to our local police department for their assistance in the matter.

Jewelry, Prescription Meds Reported Missing from Safe in a Bedroom

A Coachlamp Lane resident told police that numerous pieces of jewelry and some prescription medications were taken from the safe in her bedroomsometime between Christmas and Monday, Jan. 23, police said. Police gave these further details:

There was no indication that the house, located not far from the intersection of Coachlamp Lane and Gardiner Street, had been broken into. The victim, 60, did not have estimated values for all of the jewelry. The safe is locked with a key, not a combination.

Mail Stolen from Mailboxes on Post Road Near Weeds Landing

A Weeds Landing resident told police at 7:40 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23, that he’d found various pieces of mail, some of it opened, under a bush near the intersection of Weeds Landing and the Post Road (about 500 feet west of the driveway leading into the Darien YMCA). Police gave this further description of what happened:

The mail was addressed to two residents of the Post Road and included an open Amazon.com package. Police got in touch with the victims and told them to monitor credit reports to make sure they weren’t also the victims of identity theft. The victims didn’t know who would have taken their mail, and police have no suspects.
