William Yates Bogle III passed away on Jan. 22 at his home at Meadow Ridge in Redding. He was 97. Known as Bill or Bud, but also Buddy, Budro, “the big Boges” — and BB to his grandchildren. True to his nickname, he was a buddy to everyone.
Candice “Candie” Ann Robertson, 75, of Whispering Pines, North Carolina passed away on Jan. 14 at her home with her daughters by her side. Candice was born in New York City to Ruth and Charles “Bud” O’Keefe on May 22, 1949. She grew up on Long Island, graduating from Seton Hall high school in Patchogue, New York in 1967 before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography-cartography from Briarcliff College. Candice enjoyed a varied and fulfilling professional career beginning as a cartographer for environmental consulting firms representing major oil companies, later teaching tennis with Dick Gould in Palo Alto and, prior to her retirement, working for the Darien Board of Education for almost 20 years.
John Joseph Driscoll of Darien passed away peacefully on Jan. 18, at the age of 78. Born on May 26,,1946 in Queens, New York. John was a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished brother and brother-in-law, loving grandfather, adored uncle and a proud Vietnam War Veteran. John served his country with bravery and honor, earning the admiration and respect of his fellow soldiers.
Walter Patrick Loughlin, known to family and friends as Pat, passed away on Nov. 30, in Manhattan from cancer. He was 74. He was a brilliant lawyer, law professor and public servant; a beloved and loving father, brother and friend; and an adventurous spirit who decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to celebrate his 60th birthday.
