John Joseph Driscoll of Darien passed away peacefully on Jan. 18, at the age of 78. Born on May 26,,1946 in Queens, New York. John was a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished brother and brother-in-law, loving grandfather, adored uncle and a proud Vietnam War Veteran.

John served his country with bravery and honor, earning the admiration and respect of his fellow soldiers. His dedication and sacrifice were a testament to his unwavering commitment to the values he held dear. His commitment to his country continued with his role as quartermaster for VFW Post 6933.
He was a great man filled with integrity, kindness and a generous spirit. He touched the lives of many with his warmth, wisdom, and boundless love for his family and friends.
He was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in many activities, including camping, fishing, hunting, and shooting with his sons and grandchildren. He was blessed with multiple artistic talents, excelling in woodworking and carving. He shared his passions with his family and friends through the many projects he created for them.
He had a deep love for genealogy, which he viewed as a challenge to blend the past and the future generations. He was deeply involved with the Middlesex Genealogy Society, where he held roles as treasurer and editor of the MGS Newsletter. He was always known for his kindness, his never-ending sense of humor and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
John will be deeply missed by Joanne, his loving wife of 33 years, and her family, his 3 children: John (wife, Melissa), Patrick and Thomas (wife, Sara), his beloved grandchildren John, Kyle, Daniel, Catie, Ella, Ryan, Mikayla, Colin, Aidan and Aubrey and his devoted sister, Eileen, and her family.
A visitation was held on Jan. 23, 2025, and a celebration of his life the next day.
