Miriam K. Moran of Greenwich, and formerly Darien, died on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Greenwich Hospital surrounded by family and friends who treasured her. She was born on Dec. 11, 1932, in Boston, Mass., to William and Hilda Kirkwood. She graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and also attended Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Suzannah (Suzy) Van Vlaanderan Warren, 75, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. and Darien lost her battle to lung cancer on Oct. 19, 2015 surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Charles Ford Warren Jr. Suzy was born in Ridgewood, NJ and spent her childhood years in Hohokus, NJ, Palm Beach, FL and Nassau, Bahamas. ____________

William Robert Golden, Jr. of Darien, Connecticut died in the company of his beloved family on Wednesday, Oct. 21. He was born on Oct. 24, 1946 in Everett, Mass. to William Robert Golden and Edna Hahesy Golden. A proud “Double Eagle,” he graduated from Boston College High School in 1964 and Boston College in 1968 before enlisting in the army, where he served for three years.

Douglas Gale Wakefield, a resident of Darien since 1976, passed away at Stamford Hospital on Oct. 11, 2015. Doug was born on Sept. 7, 1936 in Norwalk to the late Milford Wakefield and Ruth Gale. He was 79. Doug served with the Darien Police Department for 20 years and retired as a sergeant, after serving four years in the U. S. Marine Corps.

Virginia (Ginny) F. Miller, of Darien passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2015 at the age of 82. Ginny was a loving wife, a mother, and a teacher in Connecticut schools. She did extensive volunteer work, investing herself deeply in her community using her time, interests and talents. She began volunteering as a member of the Stamford-Norwalk Junior League, joining after graduation from college.

A remarkable life came to a close on September 22, 2015, as Elizabeth Madeline Kuhnt Lane, age 96, passed away peacefully in Orchard Park, NY, where she resided in an independent living facility. She lived in Darien for decades and was known to her community and many friends as Lee. Lee was born in Bad- Kösen, Germany, a small resort town near Leipzig, on May 26, 1919, and in 1928 immigrated to the United States with her parents, Kurt and Elsa Kuhnt. She lived her formative years in New York City on the Upper East Side and in Greenwich, CT. Following her graduation from Greenwich High School in 1938, she attended Columbia Presbyterian Nursing School in New York City and graduated in 1941.

Howard Alexander Patterson Jr., a 55-year resident of New Canaan, Darien and Norwalk, Conn, died early Wednesday morning, September 30, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 80. Howard was born in New York City on May 17, 1935 to Dr. Howard A. Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth (Robertson) Patterson. He was educated at the Kent School, Kent, Conn. which inducted him into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003; Williams College, Williamstown, Mass.
