Antoinette Evans Clark of St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully on Jan. 28, surrounded by her children and several grandchildren. She was 82 years old and had been battling Alzheimer’s disease for several years, although was still adept at making friends and wise-cracks up until her death. She was dearly loved by many and had a zest for life.

William Kent Haydock, longtime resident of Darien, passed on peacefully at home on Feb. 4 at the age of 93. He leaves his beloved wife of nearly 63 years, the former Caroline Pinckney Prioleau (Pinky), whom he married in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as their three children and families. Kent was the son of the late Roger and Marjorie Kent Haydock of Wyncote, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. Following his graduation from Cheltenham High School, where he captained the wrestling team and won the all-suburban wrestling championship, Kent entered the U.S. Naval Air Corps.

A long-time resident of Montecito, her style, whit and humor will be deeply missed by all. She was 85. Connie was born Feb. 1, 1933 in Baltimore, the daughter of Dr. Angus Lloyd MacLean and Eleanore Ihmson Hodges.

Martin Skala, a Darien resident for over 40 years, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 6, 2019. He was a dynamic member of the community within faith, political and social circles. Martin never met a stranger, just a future friend. Martin’s love for connecting and bringing people together found a perfect focus as one of the first members of Common Ground Committee.
