Police: Darien Man, 47, Charged in Two Violent Domestic Incidents

A 47-year-old Darien man, who came home apparently intoxicated, held one person in a headlock while holding another by the neck against a wall, according to Darien police. Police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

In the evening of Jan. 21, the man arrived home and got into a dispute with at least one person, whom he held in a headlock. A second person tried to intervene, and the man held that person by the neck against a wall.

After he was charged with disorderly conduct in a domestic incident last month, Brent Moyers, 50, violated the terms of a standing protective order the same day and was later arrested for it, Darien police said. Police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

Brent Moyers of Lake Drive was originally charged after police were called to his home at 2:40 a.m. on March 20. Police were told Moyers grabbed and elbowed the victim at the home after getting into an argument with that person. As Darienite.com previously reported: “The man denied he was in physical contact with the victim during what he described as a minor altercation. A Darien EMS-Post 53 ambulance was called and the victim was treated for minor injuries that police didn’t describe in the announcement.”

A 29-year-old Darien man was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after he threw a wine glass against a wall, talked threateningly to two other individuals, ripped his own jacket and left the home, police said. Police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

The man, a resident of Nearwater Lane, got into an altercation with two other people sometime before 10:43 p.m. on Saturday night, March 28, when police were called. The man later told police that he had been in an altercation with two other people. The other two told police they had been in a verbal argument with the man, who threatened to strike them, threw the glass and ripped his jacket. They said he never had any physical contact with either of them.

A 46-year-old resident of Old Kings Highway North caused minor injuries and ripped the shirt of a person in a domestic violence incident Sunday morning, Feb. 9, and was given a summons to appear in court, Darien police said. Darien police described what happened this way, including accusations not proven in court:

After the 9:43 a.m. report to police, officers arrived at the scene and saw the woman and the victim in the back yard. The woman was holding on the victim’s sleeves, which, it seemed, had been torn. Police separated the two and spoke to them separately.

A 60-year-old Darien man was issued a misdemeanor summons on charges of disorderly conduct and third-degree assault after striking someone at his home on Nearwater Lane, police said. Police described what happened with this account, which includes accusations not proven in court:

Some time before police were called at 7:27 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, the man came home and became upset. Police didn’t say how, or what led to the man striking at least one other person. One person in the home told police that he or she was struck by the 60-year-old and that a second person in the house was also struck.
