The Noroton Fire Department’s “Fireballs” team on Sunday, won the Darien majors Little League championship, defeating the Piedmont team 7 to 5 at McGuane field. For the minors division, Daigle & Travers team beat Gardener’s Center, 7 to 6.

The Noroton department brought a fire engine to the field to cheer on the boys, who posed with their trophies on the truck. Some players were emotional on their last day of Little League in Darien. They head to Babe Ruth next year.

Coach Al Schenk’s Daigle & Travers prevailed by a narrow margin, 7 to 6, over Gardener’s Center in the Little League’s minors championship game.
