Darien residents can sign up for the six-week “Darien Citizens Police Academy” to learn more about what the Police Department does, including criminal investigations, traffic stops, policies about the use of force and school resource officers.
The free course will run from 7 to 9 p.m. on six Wednesdays,Sept. 25 to Oct. 30, and takes place at Darien Police Headquarters, 25 Hecker Ave.
You can register for it by emailing Officer Amanda Hinkley at ahinkley@darienct.gov with your name, date of birth and address — but no later than Sept. 16.
“Spaces are limited,” according to the announcement posted Tuesday on Facebook.
