Marion Theresa Donahue, age 91 of Venice, Fl., formerly of Darien and West Redding, died at Englewood Hospice House, Port Charlotte, Fl. on Saturday, June 3.
Marion was born on Aug. 21, 1925 in the Bronx, N.Y. to the late Genevieve V. (Grubert) and Guy H. Welch.

After raising their three children in Darien and West Redding, Marion and John, Sr. moved to Venice, Fl. in 1991.
Marion was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir, bell choir and served as a eucharistic minster.
Marion had an easy smile and bright positive spirit. Her grandchildren remember that she always had sweet nicknames for them and would break into song many times a day.
She loved sharing food with her family and had a great affection for the beach.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John P. Donahue, Sr. Survivors include her sister Genevieve H. Welch of Venice, Fl.; her sons, John P. (Beverly) Donahue. Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fl.; Robert D. (Diane) Donahue of Suffolk, Va; her daughter, Kathleen M. Donahue of Danbury; and, grandchildren, Brian (Lauren) Donahue, Allison (Justin) Tremblay and Megan Donahue.
Marion’s final resting place will be with her husband, mother and father in West Redding.
Farley Funeral Home in Venice will oversee arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House in your community.
