Lynn Santaniello, 63, passed away on Oct. 13. Her wake will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18, and her funeral on Friday, Oct. 19.

Lynn Santaniello, a resident of Darien, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Fairfield County Hospice House in Stamford after bravely battling a long illness. She was 63.

Born Oct. 20, 1954 in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Roddy Palmieri and Betty Hickey Palmieri. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Thomas Santaniello.

She was raised in East Norwalk and graduated from Central Catholic High School and Fairfield University. Lynn and her husband met and fell in love as teenagers.

They were fortunate to have a long marriage and love, survived by her devoted daughters Andrea Santaniello and her husband Stathis Karanikolides of Greenwich, and Jessica Santaniello Barrera and Javier Barrera of Miami, and was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Olivia, Jack, Natalie and Sabastian. She also leaves behind much loved cousins David, Peter, Bob Cotaling and Liz Aitoro.

For 25 years, Lynn taught preschool at Playland Nursery School in New Canaan. She loved teaching the children as well as learning from them. She cherished the many enduring friendships she made with her colleagues.

Lynn loved books and, in her memory, she requested that you read to a child and donate to your local library instead of sending flowers. We will all miss her kind nature and welcoming smile. She was loved by all who knew her.

Her family wishes to thank her primary caregiver Ann Marie Turner.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
