On Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, Jordice “Jordy” P. Kay (Perry), a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away from a sudden illness at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Arizona, at the age of 72.
Jordice “Jordy” Kay, 72, passed away on Dec. 16, 2023. Her family will hold a celebration of Jordy’s life in Darien in August.
Jordy was born on Feb. 12,1951, in Rhode Island and was the eldest of three children. Her family moved to Connecticut, where Jordy graduated from Darien High School in 1969. She raised her two sons in Darien, where she was known for entertaining, and made cherished friendships that lasted throughout her life.
In 2005, Jordy moved to Chandler, Arizona, working as an optician until her retirement in 2020. After retirement, Jordy enjoyed redesigning her home, solving the world’s problems with her friends over cocktails, and playing with her granddaughters.
Jordy’s family will treasure the memories from Weed Beach, summers in Rhode Island, and afternoons by the pool. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, wit, loving spirit, and warm heart.
Jordy is survived by her two sons, Andrew (Michelle) and George (Sarah Steltz); her three grandchildren, Perry, Lowen, and Kaylee; and her siblings, Beth Allen and Robert Perry; along with many nieces and nephews. Jordy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Blenda Perry.
