The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-95 northbound and southbound in Greenwich and Stamford. Expect lane closures.

The work began on Monday and continues through the morning of Friday, May 25. All the work is between Exits 5 and 7 in an area of Greenwich near Stamford and an area on the West Side of Stamford not far from Greenwich.

The project consists of bridge maintenance work on three bridges on I-95. northbound and southbound in Greenwich and Stamford.  Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on these bridges:

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2018 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Hammonasset Construction.

Drivers can expect various lane closures on I-95  northbound and southbound between Exit 5 (U.S. Route 1, Greenwich) and Exit 7 (Greenwich Avenue, Stamford).  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
