— an obituary from Edward Lawrence Funeral Home
While living in Darien, she worked at Holmes School and two real estate agencies before commencing her career of more than 20 years at Preferred Properties in Darien and Norwalk. She enjoyed her work and colleagues there until retiring at age 70.
Hilde loved to walk at the beach, go to the movies with friends, catch up on the phone, over lunch, or a cup of coffee, and to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was, above all, a devoted mother and grandmother.
Her quiet strength and unconditional love will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, Jan. 22 at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, with a funeral service at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
