Harold Copp McNulty, Jr., age 87, of Norwalk, died at Norwalk Hospital on Monday, April 25. He was the loving husband of Pauline Moeller Patchen McNulty and the late Virginia Coffey McNulty.

Harold McNulty\’s funeral service will take place Saturday. His wake will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 29.

Copp was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on Sept. 10, 1923, the son of the late Harold Copp McNulty, Sr. and the late Augusta “Gussie” Walker McNulty and has lived locally for most of his life. He attended Admiral Bullard Academy, then attended The Art Career School in New York.

Copp worked for Unesco Courier, a United Nations publication, also working for many years as a salesman at the Darien Sport Shop and later worked for Pack Roads in Westport.

Copp was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Salt Water Fly Rodders and a lifetime member of the Westport Striped Bass Club.

Copp also volunteered over 5,500 hours of his time over the years at the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium. He was a quiet, patient man who got along with everyone.

Survivors also include a son John E. McNulty of Westport; step-daughter Mary Papadakos and her husband Steve of Norwalk; step-son Paul Patchen and his wife Alberta of Hawaii; two grandchildren Dean and Christina Papadakos and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother Earle McNulty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd. in Norwalk with burial to follow at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport. Copp’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
