The Youth Commission is pleased to announce plans for its Family Concert series at Weed Beach. Taking place on Wednesdays in June, these events promise to be fun for the whole family.

Whether you pack a picnic dinner or buy dinner at “Uncle’s By the Shore,” grab a blanket, the beach chairs and come enjoy the evening at one of Darien’s finest parks. Show time is 6:30 p.m. for all concerts.

The cost (per concert) is $4 per person or $10 per family. (Beach stickers are not required to attend these events; glass containers are not permitted on the beach.)

Here’s the schedule of performances:

* June 6 – DHS Jazz Band (special appearance by Darien Community Band @ 7:15 p.m.)–

* June 13 – Annie & the Natural Wonder Band

* June 20 – Bossy Frog (and his Crab!) Band

* June 27 – Lou del Bianco

The June 27 concert will be preceded by the 12th annual Sand Castle Building Contest! The contest is free and begins at 4 p.m.

On Friday, June 29 the Youth Commission/Parks & Recreation Department will be sponsoring their annual movie at the beach! The feature film this year is The Greatest Showman! Showtime is dusk (8:30 p.m.). This event is free; beach stickers are not required to attend this event.
