Maria Tiscia & Rio Bound performs outdoors Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford.
— an announcement from Bartlett Arboretum
When Maria Tiscia was invited to play at Stamford’s Alive at Five “Jazz Up July” series, little did she know it would change her musical focus.
After being asked to front for jazz diva, Dianne Reeves, Maria decided she and her musicians should avoid duplication of Dianne Reeves repertoire.
They decided to perform their Brazilian repertoire, which had always been their favorite music. Their performance went over so well that they decided to continue on this jazz path. A week later, “Rio Bound” was born.
