Please join Atria Darien for the opening art show and wine reception for local painter Jack Conti on Thursday Aug. 5 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The exhibit will be open to the public for the month of August. Each month, a local artist displays their work in the Gratia Gillespie Art Gallery at Atria Darien.

About the Artist

Jack Conti began oil painting after he retired as an engineer in 2005. Although mostly self-taught, he has taken studio and art history classes at Fairfield University. His training brings a traditional foundation but his work has developed as an exploration into many styles from realism to abstract.

He now has expanded using acrylics, watercolor, charcoal and plastic sculpture as a means of expression. His many accomplishments include private commissions and his work has been exhibited at the Rowayton Art Center, Lighthouse Gallery and the Connecticut Senior Art Show. He resides in Shelton and one can follow him at facebook.com/jackcontiart.

Any questions about the exhibit should be directed to Kate Bacon, Resident Relations Director at Atria Darien. She can be reached at (475)-328-1909.
