— an announcement from the First Congregational Church of Darien

This evening of festive music is presented by the church’s music program under the leadership of Music Director Dan Hague and will present a mix of contemporary and medieval Christmas music.

In additional to the Tudor singers, the concert will also feature solo performances of popular Christmas songs by the church choir’s talented section leaders, quartet singing and a joyous Christmas carol sing along.

Through this mix of musical styles, the concert manages to be both fun and contemplative, creating a memorable Christmas experience for the whole family.

The Tudor Singers were founded over 30 years ago as a Madrigal Choir specializing in the music of Elizabethan England and have evolved over time into one of the premier high school choral ensembles in the region.

Renowned for their varied repertoire (which still includes the occasional Tudor period piece, but now spans centuries, cultures and styles) and high level of performance, the Tudor Singers have won several awards and accolades at festivals across the country.

This will be the 11th time they have performed at the Congregational Church’s annual Christmas concert.

There is no admission charge for the concert, but donations will be collected for Building One Community in Stamford.

The First Congregational Church is located at 14 Brookside Road, immediately off Post Road.
