David P. Dineen of Darien, an executive of Bankwell, has been elected to a three-year term on the Board of Trustees of the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

Dineen is executive vice president, head of community banking, at Bankwell. He oversees Bankwell’s deposit lines of business, including retail, commercial and cash management, as well as ebanking, to align, develop and implement the company’s overall deposit growth strategy and new business development opportunities.

Dineen was previously senior vice president and national market manager for Capital One Bank. During his 30-year banking career, he has served as executive vice president, branch distribution, at Capital One, where he was responsible for branch and small business banking for the New York metro market, which included more than 300 branches.

A graduate of St. Joseph’s College, Dineen lives with his wife and three daughters in Darien, where he is a member of the Darien Board of Education, the Darien Volunteer Fire Department, and the Town of Darien Firefighter’s Foundation. He and his wife also are actively involved with the Tiny Miracles Foundation.
