an announcement from the Corbin District website

The Corbin District and Darien Parks and Recreation are sponsoring the Summer 2024 concerts at Tilley Pond Park.

The concerts have been held at Grove Street Plaza, but this summer the park is the venue, so bring beach chairs and blankets. The music — from live bands — is from 6 to 9 p.m. (expect a break or two), and it’s free.

A few food trucks will be on hand to make it easy to enjoy the music and have dinner. All ages are welcome and the concerts are free of charge.

These bands will perform for the upcoming concerts (descriptions from the Corbin District website):

The Bob Button Big Band performs.

For more than 35 years, The Bob Button Big Band has entertained audiences in the New York Metropolitan area with music from the Big Band Era.

Today, the 12 piece band with 2 singers has expanded its library to include tunes from The American Songbook.

The band has played for numerous outdoor summer town concerts in Fairfield County, The Tokeneke Club in Darien, Fred Astaire Dance studio in Southport, and at the Greenwich Town Party which headlined Santana. We are thrilled to have them return to Grove Street Plaza and we promise this a fun evening.  Bring your dancing shoes.

Aug. 2 — The Dooh Dahs

Don’t expect “Camptown Races.”

We are thrilled to welcome back The Doo Dah’s who take their name from the iconic Grateful Dead song Truckin. The band originally got together in 2011 at a large jam session comprised of real estate professionals who have common musical interests.

Their friendships blossomed into the full band (mostly real estate professionals) who channel the music of the Grateful Dead. The Doo Dahs have been featured at various fundraising events and have played such venues as Industry City, Red Lion, Barr 55 and Irving Plaza. This will be their first year performing at Darien Summer Nights.

Aug. 16 — Diggity

We are closing out the summer series with a get up and dance band, Diggity.  Diggity is a 4-piece based in Black Rock, CT that focuses on a versatile high-energy sound.

They get down and groovy with a pop R&B sound that has a little edge to it.  Come join us and get ready to dance!
