DEMOCRACY IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT!

From the Darien League of Women Voters website:

23 Candidates for various town positions are on the ballot, plus 1/2 of the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) in this year’s municipal election.
Incumbent, Jayme Stevenson is being challenged by two unaffiliated party candidates for the 1st Selectman office, along with five additional candidates for the remaining Board of Selectmen. Under the town charter, only five of these eight candidates will be seated on the Board of Selectmen so this is surely a contested race.
Multiple, significant commercial/residential redevelopment proposals will be introduced and decided during the next town administration, making this a very important local election cycle.
Come and meet the Board of Selectmen and Planning and Zoning Commission candidates and hear their positions in a moderated, timed debate.  Uncontested candidates for the Board of Education and Board of Finance will also make statements regarding their qualifications and priorities.
