Lorraine Kelley Fenn, 91, died on Aug. 8 in Brattleboro, Vt. She was born in Waterbury and lived most of her life in Darien with her late husband, Howard J. Fenn, Sr.

Lorraine, a registered nurse, also devoted many years to the Darien school system as secretary in Mather Junior High School, as well as Holmes and Royle elementary schools. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Darien for over 60 years. She is survived by her brother, Arthur J. Kelley of Harwinton; and four children, Penny Kirchofer, Howard J. Fenn, Jr. (Biff), Betsey Koehler, Kelley Carter and their spouses; six grandsons and two great-grandsons.

Rosemary Kearns Murphy, 84, passed peacefully on Aug. 2, 2016 while briefly residing in Atlanta. A longtime resident of Darien, Rosemary was born in Stamford, to James and Mary Kearns and attended Sacred Heart Academy. While living in Rochester, N.Y., Pittsburgh,  Atlanta and Chicago, Rosemary always wanted to return to her beloved Connecticut and the water. Residing in Darien and then Stamford, Rosemary and George wintered in Litchfield by the Sea, S.C. for many years.

Andrew Francis Schlater, a resident of Rowayton,  passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 in Norwalk. Born on June 10, 1989 in Stamford, he was the son of Frank and Nancy Schlater. He was a graduate of The Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, Mass. Born and raised in Rowayton, Andrew worked for several local businesses including Rowayton Pizza, Rowayton Market and the WinePort of Darien. He also worked for Reynolds’ Farms and Gilbertie’s Nurseries where he developed his passion for organic gardening, growing unusual and heirloom tomatoes.

Lynn Alden Wanger Reilly of Shannondell at Valley Forge in Audubon, Pa., age 85, passed away suddenly at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, Pa., on July 26, 2016. Born in Philadelphia as the second of the three children of Willard and Hulda (Frazier) Wanger, Lynn was raised in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., and Ocean City, N.J.

She graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1949 and subsequently from Temple School of Dentistry in Philadelphia with certification as a dental hygienist. She met Charles E. Reilly Jr. of Bala as a young girl summering in Ocean City, started dating him at age 16, and married him at age 21, following him to Germany on his tour of active duty. Lynn’s interest in family history was triggered by her descent from John Alden and Priscilla Mullins of the Mayflower, and she followed in the footsteps of her mother, Hulda Yaeger Frazier, and great-grandmother, Anna Maria Redfield, and became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She remained a member of the Jeptha Abbot Chapter in Ardmore even after her relocation to Connecticut, where she worked with the Darien Public Schools and was a volunteer for Children’s Aid Society.

Patricia Ann Bazley Barber of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, passed away at home on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born on Oct. 14, 1929 in Plainfield, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Dorothy Cary Bazley Barnhurst and John Duncan Bazley. She lived in Plainfield, New Jersey for 13 years before moving to Ogdensburg, New York on the St. Lawrence River, where she loved to ice skate with her friends.

George P. Brooks, Sr., 81, of Goffstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Bel-Air Nursing Home, Goffstown. Born in New Canaan, George was the son of the late John and Mary Jane (Carter) Brooks. Raised and educated in New Canaan. An honorably discharged veteran, George proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he managed and operated a Texaco service station and garage in Darien.

Hickey, Jr., 87, of Fairfield, who served in many local and state public offices and was a president of Woodway Country Club, passed away on Thursday, July 21 surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Stamford on May 28, 1929 to the late William F. Hickey and Margaret Dooley Hickey. He attended local schools and graduated from St. Basil’s Preparatory School in 1948, where he played varsity football, baseball, and basketball. In 1952, he graduated from Manhattan College where he was a member of the outstanding golf team.

Ann Gettings Mason, age 91, of Brookfield, died peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Filosa Nursing Home. She was a daughter of the late Andrew and Susie (Puskas) Shimko. She was raised in Norwalk where she met and married the love of her life, John Gettings. They settled in Redding and raised their 4 children. They were married for 25 years when John died at the age of 44.

Jacqueline N. Schneider passed with peace and grace on Saturday, July 16, 2016 with her family by her side. Jacqui was born in Philadelphia, Pa., attended Pennsylvania University for undergraduate and graduate studies she was valedictorian of her class. Her life as a school psychologist served many children and families over the years. She worked for New York City Schools and the Darien schools during her long career as a psychologist. Volunteerism was one of her many community commitments.

Mary Anne Crowley Marion of Thousand Oaks, Ca., a former Darien resident and the founder of the Center for Hope in Darien, died peacefully on Thursday July 14. She was 77. Born in Camden, N.J. to John Adams Crowley, Jr and Mary McKenna Crowley on July 23, 1938, she grew up in Scarsdale, N.Y. She lived in Ardsley, N.Y., Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. and Darien for many years before moving to California in 1993. In California, she lived in Marina Del Rey, Oxnard, Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks. She graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1956, attending Rosemont College, Class of 1958 and Cornell University Nursing School, Class of 1961, where she received her Registered Nurse Certification.

James Joseph Bruno Fraccola, age 78, a resident of Darien and Jensen Beach, Fl., passed away on July 16, 2016 after a brief illness. Mr. Fraccola was born Dec. 2, 1937 in Stamford. He graduated from Darien High School in 1957, where he was an outstanding athlete. He played halfback on Blue Wave’s first undefeated and untied football team in DHS history. He was appointed to the Darien Police Department in 1959.
